Frequently Asked Questions
- As opposed to traditional auctions where the highest bid wins, at Winnit.com members bid SMALL to win BIG! Winnit members bid against each other by placing their guess for the lowest, unique amount on any given product, which results in a winning price that equates to a small fraction of retail cost.
- Your bid will be deemed the "lowest, unique" at the close of an auction if you are the first (and only!) member to bid a price as close to zero as possible without choosing a price that someone else has already bid.
- The goal of a reverse auction is to secure the lowest bid that no one else has placed on an item. Once your first bid is registered, Winnit will provide you with a $.25 cent hint range to help you locate the current lowest, unique bid in an auction (unless of course the lowest, unique bid is yours!)
Our Gold Members receive a decreased hint range of just $.15, which grants them the ability to wipe out the current Lowest, Unique Bid with $15 as opposed to $25 each time! Please see “What Is Gold Membership?” for more information.
- Yes! You may place as many bids as you would like in any given auction!
- The option of serial-bidding allows you to place multiple bids between two set prices at one time. For example, if you wish to place bids from $.25-.50, you can use a serial-bid and enter the range as $.25-.50, allowing you to effectively cover every amount between them. Please note that you will be charged a fee-per-bid for each amount within your selected range.
- Beginner Auctions were introduced shortly after our launch in order to allow our new members the opportunity to develop their own strategy for Winnit. Beginner Auctions are reserved for beginners only, but feature the same items found in regular auctions. Once a member has won 3 auctions on Winnit, they will no longer be permitted to bid in Beginner Auctions.
- Gold Members enjoy a number of exciting benefits including:
- Access to Gold-Member-Only auctions featuring exclusive products and packages
- Up to 50 bonus bids per month (depending on which Gold Membership Package you choose)
- Decreased hint range (As opposed to the standard 25 cent range that all members currently receive after placing a bid, Gold Members receive a hint range of just 15 cents, which grants the ability to wipe out the current Lowest, Unique Bid with $15 as opposed to $25 each time)
- The option to purchase items at their retail price after deducting the cost of credit bids placed in our “Winnit Now” auctions (for further explanation, please see “What is Winnit Now?”)
Gold Membership is available for:
$19.99/month OR
$99.99 for 6 months OR
$179.99 for 12 months
Click this link to become a Gold Member - Winnit Now allows our Gold Members the option to purchase items at their retail price after deducting the cost of credit bids placed in the designated Winnit Now auctions. For example, if a Gold Member is bidding on a MacBook Pro (retail price: $1,599) and has spent $50 on bids, but loses the auction, he or she has the option of putting that $50 toward the purchase of the product, which in this case would make the final price $1,549 through Winnit. This feature allows Gold Members to spend the same amount they would have in a store, but first grant them the ability to try and win the item for a fraction of the cost on Winnit!
- No, Winnit is not a lottery. Winnit members may affect the result and outcome of an auction by waging bids against one another and by acquiring a skill for our auctions.
- If a single Lowest Unique Bid has not been received by the close of an auction then the winner is determined by the lowest bid amount that has been placed by exactly two members. The member that placed this bid amount first will be deemed the winner. If an auction does not have a bid amount that exactly two members have placed then Winnit will find the bid amount that three users have bid and apply the same rules.
- Bidding fees are necessary to cover the cost of the featured product/service.
